Shakti Mats are designed for lying on. Placing it on the floor will increase the pressure of the spikes, and laying it on your bed will help them conform to your body.
20 minutes is all you need to discover a deep sense of relaxation, but wherever you choose to use your Mat – be ready for the initial shock. Your first Shakti session will likely have you questioning what brought this spikey mat into your life, or how it’s going to help with anything.
After 5-10 minutes, your body will sink into the sensation and you’ll understand why we call it Shakti bliss. Deep breaths help and skin-to-spike contact is best. If that’s too much, you can wear a thin T-shirt as you build up a practice and get used to the first few minutes.
There’s no time limit while using your Shakti. Don’t be surprised if you fall asleep.
